Academy CEO Bill Kramer expressed deep condolences to those affected, stating, “We want to offer our deepest sympathies to those affected by the devastating fires across Southern California. So many of our members and industry colleagues live and work in the Los Angeles area, and we are thinking of you.”

The Critics Choice Awards, initially scheduled for January 12, have been moved to January 26. The annual BAFTA Tea Party, set for January 11, has been canceled due to safety concerns. Additionally, numerous film premieres and television productions, including “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Abbott Elementary,” have halted filming in response to the crisis.
Despite these challenges, the 2025 Oscars ceremony remains scheduled for March 2, with Conan O’Brien confirmed as the host. The Academy’s adjustments aim to accommodate members and participants affected by the wildfires, ensuring that the nomination and voting processes proceed as smoothly as possible under the circumstances.
